THE LEONARDO DA VINCI PROGRAMME

The Leonardo da Vinci programme is an initiative of the European Union which focuses on the teaching and training needs of those involved in vocational education and training. Foundation for the Development of Education System (which has taken over from the National Agency for The Leonardo da Vinci programme) announces annual  calls for proposals.

Further information on the LEONARDO DA VINCI Program is available at: www.leonardo.org.pl.

Complex of State Music Schools no 4 in Warsaw has been a promoter of the “Concert Circle” project - joint concert project as on-the-job learning for music students. The project received EU funds three times (in 2005, 2006 and 2008).

The project involves a 3-week vocational training in a partner institution. Students take active part in a series of symphonic orchestra or chamber ensemble rehearsals culminating in a public performance, as well as in individual instrument practice, group lessons of music theory and selected cultural events of the host country.

The student participation in the project is cost-free. The funds allocated by  the National Agency for the Leonardo da Vinci programme cover the costs of accommodation, meals, travel and insurance. Students eligible for training take part in pedagogic, language and cultural training as well.

Currently the Concert Circle Project is carried out by an international network of music schools which includes:

  • Helsingin Konservatorio (Helsinki – FINLAND)
  • Lahden Konservatorio (Lahti – FINLAND)
  • Joensuun Konservatorio (Joensuu – FINLAND)
  • Keski – Pohjanmaan Konservatorio (Kokkola – FINLAND)
  • G.Otsa nim Tallina Muusikakooli (Tallin – ESTONIA)
  • North Glasgow College (Glasgow – GREAT BRITAIN)
  • Conservatorio – Escola Profissional das Artes da Madeira (Funchal – PORTUGAL)
  • Vorarlberger Landeskonservatorium (Feldkirch – AUSTRIA)
  • Complex of State Music Schools no 4 (ZPSM nr 4) (Warsaw – POLAND)
